Islam is a poison to a society. It’s divisive. It’s hateful. ... Islam is going to be brought down. … because Islam is based on lies and it’s not based on the truth. I have no doubt whatsoever that Islam is going to be destroyed.” - Nonie Darwish

Nonie Darwish is a Senior Fellow at the Center for Security Policy, or CSP; founder and director of Former Muslims United; founder and president of Arabs for Israel.

Nonie Darwish is a senior fellow at the Center for Security Policy. She is also the founder and director of Former Muslims United and founder and president of Arabs for Israel. Darwish is of Egyptian origin and was raised in the Gaza Strip. She immigrated to the United States in 1976 and started the group Former Muslims United in 2009. The organization claims that “since Islam’s apostasy laws condemn former Muslims to death and allows vigilante violence against apostates … Islam itself has opened itself to criticism.” Darwish also is affiliated with the group Arabs for Israel, which describes itself as “an organization of Arabs and Muslims who respect and support the State of Israel and welcome a peaceful and diverse Middle East."

Darwish famously predicted that Islam “will destroy itself because it’s not a true religion.” "Islam is a poison to a society. It’s divisive. It’s hateful. ... Islam is going to be brought down. … because Islam is based on lies and it’s not based on the truth," Darwish said at a Stop Islamization of America rally in September 2011. She validates this view through her own books, Now They Call Me Infidel: Why I Renounced Jihad for America, Israel and the War on Terror, and Cruel and Usual Punishment: The Terrifying Global Implications of Islamic Law. Both books were endorsed and supported by Daniel Pipes, Robert Spencer, and David Horowitz.

She was featured as an expert on “radical Islam” in the Clarion Project’s fear-mongering documentary “Obsession: Radical Islam's War Against the West.” Nonie Darwish has served as a featured speaker at the David Horowitz Freedom Center's Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week and was also featured as an expert panelist for a 2012 CSP national campaign, titled “End the Shariah War on Women.”
